I guess what I mean, is that this thriller gives the reader an education in what life was like in East Berlin when the Wall was up, and Communism was in and the Stasi were in absolute control. It’s a love story, a thriller, and an education all beautifully wrapped up in 646 pages.

The Moment
Dear Readers, it's been a long break between blogs and I do apologize, but
life with all its barnacles has a habit of getting in the way of things.
Importantly I've discovered a great writer- Douglas Kennedy - and reading his
brilliant novel the Moment. It's great. An intelligent thriller set in Berlin
in the early 80"s.Now what do I mean when I say intelligent thriller? It
seems to suggest there's an opposite i.e. a stupid thriller.
I guess what I mean, is that this thriller gives the reader an education in what life was like in East Berlin when the Wall was up, and Communism was in and the Stasi were in absolute control. It’s a love story, a thriller, and an education all beautifully wrapped up in 646 pages.
